Background

Cura is a global software company that designs and develops Risk Management solutions.

Cura's Assessor software assists large companies in the collection, quantification, and reporting on all business risk areas. Benefits of Assessor include greater quantification of risk, improved risk-reporting and improved compliance.

The user base per installation is between 5 and 50 people. A typical installation would be behind a client's firewall on dedicated servers. The Cura software has web-based and terminal service interfaces.

Cura's requirement

Cura Australia had been requested by a large Insurance organisation in Sydney to investigate the delivery of their software as an outsourced service. This was the first time globally that this had been attempted. Cura Australia turned to RightServe to assist them in the following:

  • Design of a virtual server architecture for the delivery of the Cura Assessor software in an outsourced fashion
  • Development and implementation of the security policies for the service
  • Implementation of secure access to the servers, for both web-based clients and Terminal Services clients
  • Development of a costing and pricing model for the outsourced service
  • Delivery of all of the above services in a single support contract to Cura, with 99% guaranteed uptime.

Benefits

Cura Australia has one support contract from RightServe covering all aspects of the implementation, leaving them to concentrate on sales of software and client service. The tailored support contract is has significantly reduced the overall cost of delivery through saving on resources.
